SMI Tier I Scholarships (Alumni)

Tier I Scholarship dynamic column

Who should apply? SMI Seniors applying to UCR Teaching Credential Program 

Scholarship Amount: Multiple SMI Scholarships will be awarded for 2026-27 AY in the amount of up to $10,000 each. Award amounts will be based on applicant's merit and involvement in the SMI Program. 

Requirements: 

Minimum 

  • CNAS or BCOE major

  • Expected graduation by Spring 2026 (CNAS /BCOE major)

  • SMI Student participant (received SMI advising)

  • 3.0 or higher GPA

  • Completed EDUC 3 or equivalence 

  • Admission to UCR Teaching Credential Program 

  • Passed CBEST 

  • Passed CSET Science Subtest I OR CSET Math Subtests I & II 

  • Completed one upper-division course from: EDUC 104, 105, 132, 147, 162, 174, 179A

Preferred 

  • Passed CSET Science Subtests I & II OR CSET Math Subtest I & II & III 

  • Completed EDUC 4 or equivalence 

  • Completed two or more upper-division courses from: EDUC 104, 105, 132, 147, 162, 174, 179A

  • Completed NASC 192 and NASC 192L

  • Participated in advanced field work

SMI Scholarship Deadlines: 

Priority Deadline: Friday, December 5, 2025 by 12:00 pm (noon)

Regular Deadline: Friday, January 16, 2026 by 12:00 pm (noon)
